MARTHA’S ARTISTIC RESIDENCES REPRESENT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE INDIVIDUAL ARTIST TO ESCAPE FROM THE ROUTINE, IMMERSING THEMSELVES IN A NEW SPACE, SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND INTIMATE REFLECTION.

They are an invitation to all those who desire to meditate on a specific theme, through the creation of a piece or a project.

We strongly believe that Palermo needs the critical and creative artists’ gaze to be able to reflect and imagine their future as a stimulus for real changes. With this purpose, MARTHA promotes artistic residencies that can generate strong cultural interactions, by hosting artists coming from different geographic backgrounds and forms of expression, creating an all-round inventive coexistence between them.

MUSICAL RESIDENCIES

We promote the creation and execution of new musical projects involving composers, individual musicians and ensembles.

INTERDISCIPLINARY RESIDENCES

Artists coming from different fields of study are invited to look for points of contact and dialogue between disciplines in order to develop and create an original performance.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?

The residency has to be considered as a moment of mutual exchange in which the artists, using performances, exhibitions, workshops, laboratories are dedicated to return the result of their artistic work to the community and territory. The residency period will be agreed according to the calendar of MARTHA’s activities. The artists will be selected through an announcement or spontaneous application.
